Ascended Heroes is the big special set of the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution era. Like every special set, it has no booster box and no single booster packs on shelves. The packs only come inside products, and there are a lot of them: collections, tins, an Elite Trainer Box, a Pokémon Center version, pin and Mega ex boxes, a booster bundle and the two Premium Poster Collections.
This guide lists every Ascended Heroes product, what is inside, and which one makes sense depending on whether you want packs, promos or something to display.
Ascended Heroes at a glance
| Detail | Ascended Heroes |
|---|---|
| Series | Mega Evolution (special set, between Phantasmal Flames and Perfect Order) |
| First products | 30 January 2026 |
| Set size | Over 290 numbered cards |
| Big hits | 13 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, 33 Illustration Rares, 22 Special Illustration Rares, Mega Attack Rares and Mega Hyper Rares |
| Headline cards | Mega Gengar ex and Mega Charizard Y ex |
| Booster box? | No. Packs only come inside products |
Because there is no display, the price per pack is higher than in a main set. That is the trade-off with every special set: you pay more per pack, and in return the set is packed with Illustration Rares and Special Illustration Rares instead of filler.

The Premium Poster Collection: Mega Gardevoir vs Mega Lucario
The Premium Poster Collection is the product most people search for, and it is the best mix of pack count and display piece in the whole lineup. Both versions contain the same thing:
- 10 Ascended Heroes booster packs
- 1 foil promo in the Mega Attack Rare style: Mega Gardevoir ex or Mega Lucario ex
- 1 double-sided poster, roughly 68 × 99 cm (26.875 × 39 inches)
- 1 Pokémon TCG Live code card
The only differences are the promo and the poster artwork. Pack count and contents are identical, so the choice comes down to which Pokémon you want on your wall or in your binder.
| Mega Gardevoir version | Mega Lucario version | |
|---|---|---|
| Promo | Mega Gardevoir ex (Mega Attack Rare style) | Mega Lucario ex (Mega Attack Rare style) |
| Poster | Mega Gardevoir artwork, double-sided | Mega Lucario artwork, double-sided |
| Boosters | 10 | 10 |
| Best for | Gardevoir fans and Psychic-type collectors | Fighting-type players and Lucario fans |
Mega Gardevoir and Mega Lucario were also the faces of the first Mega Evolution set, so either promo fits nicely next to the base set cards if you collect the era.

Is the Poster Collection worth it?
If you want packs, yes. With 10 boosters it holds more packs than the regular Elite Trainer Box and almost as many as the Pokémon Center ETB, without paying for sleeves, Energy and dice you may not need. If you already have a drawer full of ETB accessories, the Poster Collection is usually the better buy for opening.
If you plan to keep it sealed, keep the box flat and out of direct sunlight. The window and the poster sleeve are the parts that dent or fade first.
Elite Trainer Box vs Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box
The regular Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box has 9 packs, the full-art N’s Zekrom promo and the usual accessories: 65 sleeves, 40 Energy cards, six damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a coin, dividers and a storage box.
The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box was sold only through the Pokémon Center. It adds two extra packs (11 in total) and a second N’s Zekrom promo with the Pokémon Center stamp. Outside the US and UK it is hard to get, which is why it trades above the regular ETB once the first wave is gone.
Pick the regular ETB if you play and want the accessories. Pick the Pokémon Center version if you collect sealed or want the stamped promo.
Which Ascended Heroes product should you buy?
For the most packs per euro
The Booster Bundle (6 packs, no extras) and the Premium Poster Collection (10 packs plus a promo) are the two products where most of the money goes into packs.
For promos
The Mega ex Boxes give you two versions of the same Mega ex promo (a standard and an oversize lenticular), and the Pin Collection gives three First Partner promos. The ETB promo, N’s Zekrom, is the one most players want for the binder.
For sealed collecting
The Pokémon Center ETB and the Premium Poster Collections are the products most likely to hold value sealed, because they are the most distinctive and the hardest to reprint in the same form.
For a gift
Mini Tins and the two-pack Collections are cheap, look good and are easy to post. For a bigger gift, the Poster Collection is hard to beat: a kid or a new collector gets packs, a promo and a poster in one box.
Buying Ascended Heroes in Europe
Ascended Heroes is an English-language product. The Japanese cards come from different releases (the MEGA Dream ex high class pack and related decks), so you will not find an English-style “Ascended Heroes” display from Japan. If you want to know how the two languages compare, see our guide to English vs Japanese Pokémon cards.
Card Jinx ships sealed Pokémon TCG products from Germany. Shipping is included in the product price. See shipping from Germany for delivery times. All current Ascended Heroes stock is in the Pokémon TCG category and the Elite Trainer Box category.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an Ascended Heroes booster box?
No. Ascended Heroes is a special set, so there is no booster box and no single booster sold on its own. Packs only come in collections, tins, ETBs, the Poster Collections and the Booster Bundle.
How many packs are in the Ascended Heroes Premium Poster Collection?
Ten booster packs, plus a foil Mega Gardevoir ex or Mega Lucario ex promo, a double-sided poster and a TCG Live code.
What is the difference between the Mega Gardevoir and Mega Lucario Poster Collection?
Only the promo card and the poster artwork. Both contain 10 packs and the same extras.
How big is the Ascended Heroes poster?
About 68 × 99 cm (26.875 × 39 inches), printed on both sides.
What is the promo in the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box?
A full-art N’s Zekrom. The Pokémon Center ETB includes it twice, one copy with the Pokémon Center stamp.
What is the most valuable card in Ascended Heroes?
The Mega Gengar ex Special Illustration Rare has been the top chase card of the set. Mega Charizard Y ex is the other headline card. Prices move a lot, so check current market listings before you buy singles.
Is Ascended Heroes legal in Standard?
Yes. Ascended Heroes cards carry the current regulation mark and are legal in Standard alongside the other Mega Evolution sets.
Do you ship Ascended Heroes outside Germany?
Yes. Card Jinx ships across the EU and worldwide, with shipping already included in the price.
