Chinese Riftbound Products Explained: Booster Display vs Slim Display, Gift Boxes and Starter Decks

Riftbound, the League of Legends trading card game from Riot Games, launched in China before anywhere else. That is why a lot of Riftbound sealed product in Europe is Simplified Chinese, and why buyers keep asking us the same questions: what is the difference between a booster display and a slim display, what is in the gift boxes, and is Chinese product worth buying at all?

This guide answers those questions for the Chinese Origins and Spiritforged products.

Why Chinese Riftbound exists

Riftbound is published by Shining Soul in China and by UVS Games for English-speaking regions. The first three sets launched in Simplified Chinese weeks or months before the English versions:

SetSimplified ChineseEnglish
Origins (set 1)1 August 202531 October 2025
Spiritforged (set 2)12 December 202513 February 2026
Unleashed (set 3)10 April 20268 May 2026
Vendetta (set 4)31 July 202631 July 2026
Radiance (set 5)23 October 202623 October 2026

Since Vendetta, Chinese and English launch on the same day. For Origins and Spiritforged, though, Chinese product was available first and is still widely traded.

Booster display

The regular Chinese booster display contains 24 packs with 14 cards each, 336 cards in total. Packs are the same size as the 14-card packs used in English Riftbound. If you want to build a collection or open a full box the way the game was designed, this is the product. We stock the Origins booster display and the Spiritforged booster display.

Slim display

The slim display also has 24 packs, but each pack only holds 5 cards. It is a smaller and cheaper box with fewer cards in total, which makes it popular for box openings and for buyers who mainly want to chase rare cards rather than build a full playset. Available: Origins slim display (Yasuo) and Spiritforged slim display.

Gift boxes

The Spiritforged gift boxes combine 6 booster packs (14 cards each) with extra items, which makes them a nice present for a League of Legends fan. Choose between the Spiritforged gift box collector edition and the Lee Sin Spiritforged gift box.

Starter decks

Each starter deck is a ready-to-play deck built around one champion. They are the easiest way to learn the rules, and two decks are enough to play against a friend. We carry Jinx, Lee Sin, Viktor, Fiora and Rumble. New to the game? Start with our Riftbound Origins starter guide.

Should you buy Chinese or English Riftbound?

  • Gameplay: the cards are the same game. If you know a card in English, you can play its Chinese version once you recognise the art and cost.
  • Price: Chinese product is often cheaper than English, especially the slim displays.
  • Collecting: many collectors like owning both language versions, and Chinese first-print product from the original launch has its own appeal.
  • Tournaments: if you plan to play at official events, check the current rules for your region on which card languages are accepted.

If you want to read the cards easily at the table, English is the simpler choice. If you mainly collect, open boxes or play with friends, Chinese product gives you more for your money.
