Delta Reign is the sixth English Mega Evolution set, releasing 6 November 2026 with prerelease Build & Battle Boxes in stores from 24 October. It is a large set — over 135 cards — and it ships in more product shapes than most people need. This guide explains what each product actually contains and which one makes sense depending on whether you are building a deck, chasing chase cards or buying to keep sealed.
What is in the set
Delta Reign carries the internal code ME06 and is headlined by Mega Rayquaza ex. Four Pokémon get new Mega Evolution ex cards: Rayquaza, Golurk, Malamar and Golisopod. The set contains six Pokémon ex in total, more than a dozen Trainer cards, 14 Illustration Rares, 17 Ultra Rares across Pokémon and Trainers, and six Special Illustration Rares.
The mechanical novelty is the split Stadium card. Three new Stadiums carry “Legendary” in their names and come in two halves — you need both halves to play one, and a deck may only contain two copies of a given card. It is the first time the English game has split a single Stadium across two cards, and it changes how you value Stadium pulls: half a Legendary Stadium is not a playable card on its own.
The products, explained
Booster box
The standard way to open a set at the lowest cost per pack. A booster box gives you the best odds of landing multiple Illustration Rares across the box, but no guarantee of any specific card. This is the right product if your goal is volume and you do not care about accessories.
Elite Trainer Box
The Delta Reign ETB includes a promo Kyogre Illustration Rare, originally printed in the Japanese set Storm Emeralda, plus sleeves, dice, a coin and a damage counter die. Cost per pack is higher than a booster box. An ETB is worth it when you want the promo and the accessories, or when you want a single sealed box to keep rather than a case. A Pokémon Center exclusive version with different artwork also exists; exclusive ETB variants have historically held value better than the standard edition, simply because fewer were printed.
Booster bundle
Six packs, no extras, usually the cheapest entry point into a new set. Good for a taste of the set or a gift. Cost per pack sits between a box and a blister.
Build & Battle Box
A 40-card ready-to-play deck plus four boosters and a foil promo. This is the prerelease product, in stores 24 October to 1 November, and the best value for anyone who actually wants to play the set on release rather than collect it. Two Build & Battle Boxes give two people a playable game immediately.
Blisters and checklane blisters
Delta Reign has an unusually broad blister lineup: a Seel blister, a Spritzee checklane blister, premium checklane blisters featuring Ampharos and Delphox, and retailer-specific checklane blisters pairing Xerneas with Deoxys and Keldeo with Delibird. Blisters are the worst cost per pack of any format but they carry exclusive promo cards, which is the only real reason to buy one.
Which product should you buy
| Your goal | Best choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Play the set on release | Build & Battle Box | Instant playable deck plus packs, cheapest route to a working list |
| Open the most cards per euro | Booster box | Lowest cost per pack, best spread of rares |
| One box to open with accessories | Elite Trainer Box | Promo card, sleeves and dice included |
| Keep it sealed long term | Pokémon Center ETB or sealed booster box | Exclusive print runs are smaller; standard boxes depend on reprint volume |
| Try the set cheaply | Booster bundle | Six packs, no commitment |
| Chase a specific promo | The matching blister | Promos are blister-exclusive, but cost per pack is the highest |

Delta Reign and the Japanese sets
English Mega Evolution sets are assembled from Japanese releases rather than mirroring one set. Delta Reign is expected to draw mainly on Storm Emeralda, the Japanese M6 expansion from 31 July 2026 with over 110 cards, plus cards from the Japanese MEGA Starter Decks. That is why the ETB promo is a Storm Emeralda card.
The practical consequence: if you follow Japanese releases, you have already seen most of Delta Reign. If you want cards months before they appear in English, the Japanese side is where to look — see English vs Japanese Pokémon cards for the differences in pack size, card stock and pull rates, and our Japanese stock.
Timing
Preorders for Delta Reign opened roughly a month before release. The 30th anniversary line lands on the same day — the Ultra-Premium Collection, Ditto Premium Collection and Figure Collection all release 6 November, with the Binder Collection following on 4 December. Anniversary products are print-limited in a way booster boxes are not, so they are the items most likely to sell out rather than settle to a lower price. The full schedule is in our release calendar.
